Aiming to promote healthy lifestyles to prevent and reduce stress and to increase self-esteem and a healthy sense of self, Chincha polyclinic in Peru has been offering extra activities aimed at developing human integration, such as the Biodanza sessions at the Ministry of Agriculture headquarters.
Psychologist Margarita Castillo Lobos from the Chincha Polyclinic EsSalud said that Biodanza is very important because the movements harmonize and integrate. She added that Biodanza can improve creativity, vitality, and other aspects of human potential.
“It is important to connect with life and have a sense of existential fulfillment. Biodanza generates a strong feeling of aliveness. By replacing rigid movements with integrated and harmonized movements Biodanza focuses on strengthening people’s potential for health,” said the health care professional.
Biodanza was created in Chile by Rolando Toro Araneda. It is a system of human integration, organic renewal, and a learning process about positive emotions and life in general. It works by inducing integrative experiences through music, singing, movement (dance) and group situations.
