Biodanza is a system of human communication and social integration using movement and dance to express our unique identity and our shared human connection, for wellbeing, personal development and holistic health.
These classes are open to everyone who would like to find out more about Biodanza and join us for nourishing and healing experiences through integrative dances.
I am developing these new classes specifically for this unique time that we are all experiencing, of reconnecting with community in person, after a very challenging time of separation and social isolation.
Each class will begin with an introduction to how Biodanza works to facilitate a healthy and joyful environment in which we are all invited to express ourselves through dances and movements that reinforce our human qualities and vitality.
We are currently restricted to adapted classes of Biodanza as we come back to more social contact and these classes are designed with some physical distance and mindfulness of working progressively for gradual integration into community sharing.
At this time we are limited to 20 participants per class so it is necessary to pre book a place.
Please see costs and booking details below.
I am more than happy to have a chat with anyone wanting to find out more or ask
any questions before coming along.
Looking forward to seeing you for the dance of life! Claire
Coming for the first time?
The class is an invitation to the dance so you only do the dances you want to do.
The dances are explained and demonstrated before you try them yourself. They are based on human movements that everyone can do.
There is an active part of the class and a relaxing part of the class.
Wear comfortable clothes to dance in and warmer/cooler layers for when we are active or resting.
Please bring water to drink – there is also water available in the hall but no cups.
We usually dance in bare feet but you can wear dance shoes if you need foot support.
Guidelines for dancing together
The guidelines that we follow, especially during this time are to respect each other’s needs, choices and differences in connection to the current circumstances.
We are not required to wear masks during the dance and it is not recommended to exercise wearing a mask. However, some people may prefer to do so and that is a personal choice.
Hand sanitiser will be available and the room is spacious and airy for dancing with distance.
LifeCare Requirements
There are some requirements from the manager at LifeCare centre that we need to follow while being in the building:
1) Use the QR code at the door before entering the building. If anyone does not have a smart phone there is a website address I can use instead for those attending the class.
2) Wear masks in any communal areas of the building, toilets etc and to enter/leave the class.
3) We can’t hang around in the building at all so you need to come straight to the room and go straight out again at the end. For those who like to spend a bit of time saying goodnight and anyone who would like to help me load my car up, we can meet n the car park afterwards.
Payment for classes
All places must be pre-booked but you can pay on the night.
