You will be guided through a sequence of 8 vivências, each of them a 2-hour shamanic journey. These intensive 3 days will give you the opportunity to explore different power animals and elemental energies, and experience neoshamanic healing practices. We look forward to welcoming you!
Gail has trained in shamanics over the last 20 years with Ken Meadows, Simon Buxton, Carlos Aries Segura from Peru and the late Sarah Howcroft. All are highly regarded as experienced shamans. Paola dedicated over 6 years of her life to intensive studies with Tibetan teachers. She is inspired by the Bon tradition, largely based on animism and shamanism. Both have learned with Miriam Sofia Lopez from Colombia and look forward to welcoming you to this beautiful space.
The retreat will take place at the beautiful Finca de la Jara. This private estate lies nestled between the mountains in the National Park of Los Alcornacles. Surrounded by wild peaks, tropical forests and waterfalls, the venue is perfectly located to reintroduce you back in the wild and as a base for adventure and relaxation.
The Finca itself is ten hectares in size and has nature trails cut through the wild olive groves; these wind through the unspoilt flower meadows alongside a beautiful river where you can find deer and otters and overhead eagles and storks. There is also a beautiful natural pool fed from the wells, where you can relax and swim in the long Andalucían summer.
Dotted throughout the property are 7 luxury glamping tents set in glades providing accommodation for 14 people. There is also a caravan which can accommodation 2 people. It may be possible to find alternative accommodation in the little village of Facinas five minutes away.
On the venue you will find a haven of peace, calm and tranquillity, far away from the busy and noisy coastal strip, however the long wild beaches of Tarifa are just 15 minutes to the south.
Delicious home cooked meals using only the finest local organic ingredients are included in the price. Food is brought in daily from the village market. The meat comes from the free range animals in the park, the eggs from the local hens, bread from the wood fired bakery, handmade cheeses from local farms and vegetables from smallholdings. Of course where possible the hosts will cook on the campfires and use their own bread oven to bake and make pizza. They can cater for all dietary requirements and preferences if we let them know in advance.
For most people flying is the easiest option. There are several airports nearby and Malaga is the main one serving our region. But remember to also check Jerez (Ryanair, London Stanstead) and Seville (most major airports and carriers). The closest airport is however Gibraltar, just 40 minutes away. This airport is served by EasyJet and BA.
Car rental: Car hire in Spain is very cheap and all the airports have car hire services. This also gives you a lot more freedom to explore during your stay.
Bus: If you fancy getting here under your own steam it’s fairly straight forward. Buses are available from all airports and are very reliable.
Airport Transfer Service: The hosts offer an airport transfer service to get you there quickly and hassle free once you arrive at your airport. Transfers are priced at about a half of what a taxi would cost you and will take about a third of the time it’ll take to catch a bus.
Prices are each way, per transfer (€ 25 per person extra)
Gibraltar € 65 45 mins
Jerez € 115 1 hour 30 mins
Malaga € 145 1 hour 50 mins
Seville € 175 2 hours 30 mins
