Among these new things was discovering Biodanza Days run by Jill Goodwin at a charming village hall in the beautiful Quantock Hills in Somerset\, on my first day of dancing I was very nervous I was sure I was going to make a complete fool of myself as I had never danced before and I assumed I had two left feet\, gulp\, but I was warmly welcomed and it did not take long to feel right at home with these lovely people. It is so easy to dance with no steps to learn and is just such a joyful experience and over the last year it has become a deeply moving and life enhancing/affirming rewarding practice. I just love it and have had many wonderful experiences from very soft and gentle that simply can not be put into words\, but life changing and some are very powerful ones. \nAt the last but one dance we had just finished a vigorous dance and were slowly walking to self regulate\, I watched one of our dancers come to a halt in front of a window bathed in sunlight she appeared to me as a picture of peace and contentment in that moment. I came to realise that age\, gender\, appearance does not matter in the least because here was a beautiful shining soul and I was deeply overcome\, humbled and delighted to realise I was in a room full of shining souls. Bliss \nI now know this is something that all humans have and that Biodanza can lead us to connect on such a deep and wonderful way\, if only we could get the whole world to dance Biodanza\, the world would be a much better place for all of us and all its life.

DESCRIPTION:Biodanza School Bristol\, UK\nIn Biodanza the concept of transcendence consists of the natural function of human beings to establish essential connections with everything that exists: other human beings\, animals\, vegetables and mindeerals – in short\, with the cosmic whole. \nTherefore\, we learn to overecome the force of the ego and go beyond our perception of ourself in order to identify with the unity of nature and with the essence of our human companions. (People who cannot leave behind self-consciousness are unable to enter into a transcendent experience.) \nThe effects of Biodanza in transcendence are to throw much light onto the experience of the whole. A feeling of intimate connection with nature and with another person is a peak experience we rarely have in our lives. To experience it only once enables us to start to change our attitude towards ourselves\, and towards other people. To know ‘for sure’ that we are not isolated beings\, but that we are participating in the unifying movementof the cosmos\, is enough to alter our scale of values. But this knowing for sure is not an intellectual knowing. The answer is DANCE. \nWhen I feel stuck emotionally\, the first thing I know to do is to MOVE MY BODY. I put on some music that makes me feel alive and I begin to move. \nI’ve always loved dancing\, but about years ago\, I found Biodanza (the dance of life) and it changed my life. \nI see Biodanza as a kind of dance laboratory\, where supported by music and the group\, we get to try out new and different ways of being before we go for it “in real life”. \nOver my three-year training as a Biodanza facilitator\, I grew in ways I could never have imagined. It was empowering\, liberating\, expansive\, life-affirming and nourishing. It guided me to a place where I could imagine loving ALL of myself (I’m a work in progress of course\, but more than ever\, I understand what it is to feel whole). \nIt brought me to a place of saying\,  “It’s time for me to be my biggest\, boldest self without apology. I can do anything\, I can be anything”. \nI felt love and connection to others in ways I had never felt before – some of it through crazy\, silly games and play\, and some of it through tears\, caress and softness. \nSo\, this is what Biodanza has offered me. Maybe it can offer something similar to you? \nI hope to see you there. Try it. You might love it!
