The first Northern Biodanza Festival took place 15-17 July in Derbyshire at Unstone Grange, a Centre used for personal creative growth set in 5 acres of grounds and gardens. Maria Cañizalez Jerez, the Festival Organiser, was joined by Catherine Canning, Gail Stewart Ingrid Slack and Paula Jardim. Together, they guided participants through six vivencias over the weekend.
The intention of the festival was to raise awareness of Biodanza in the north of England, and to provide a good experience for everyone by offering workshops suitable to all levels of experience and introducing them in a gradual, progressive way.

What the facilitators are saying
“This weekend has filled me with joy, excitement, pleasure, and love. One of the best weekends of my life! The vivencias were amazing and many spoke positively about them!!” ~ Gail
“It was a wonderful festival. It was great facilitating in a great team of lovely, supportive, kind and encouraging friends. In fact, there was a wonderful feeling of friendliness, love and support throughout the festival among all there, and the participants were generous in their appreciation of what we offered. There were many comments about the “amazing and awesome” vivencias. Overall a resounding success on many levels. I still feel the glow from the beauty and joy of it all.” ~ Ingrid
“I’m feeling SO grateful at how well we all got on and how supportive it all felt between us. I LOVED everyone’s vivencias – a delight through and through.” ~ Catherine
“One of the things I really liked about the weekend was the variety of themes and approaches. I think that those who were new or relatively new to Biodanza left with a good overall picture of the very concrete ways in which Biodanza can contribute to their daily lives, and of how each facilitator brings its own slightly different style to the group. I also loved the care that went into considering the needs of people with such different levels of experience, and how we, the facilitators involved, were able to express our views and genuinely respect each others perspectives. How precious is that?” ~ Paula
