Increased self-worth and sound mental health,
add to the treasure of your own inner wealth!’
The efficacy of Biodanza has been the subject of formal academic research by a number of scientists. It’s great to have a body of evidence to back up its benefits. Participants may often be unaware of the system’s subtlety and depth which underpin what may simply appear to be a playful game to irresistible music! Nevertheless, studies by Marcus Stuëck and Alejandra Villegas in Argentina and Germany have demonstrated positive effects in relation to mental health, expansiveness, self-worth, optimism, inner peace, balance and self confidence.
Chris, now a student of The London School of Biodanza, shares his heart-felt response to Biodanza and the effect it’s had on his life…
‘Following a severe bout of depression, I was just well enough to go on a walking weekend in Wales. On the last night I was talking to a nice lady about depression and its associated limits on life. She mentioned that The London School of Biodanza had an ‘Open Day’ the following weekend, and that I should give it a try.
I DID!!!!
Well… the rest is history to my fellow school mates, but to enlighten those who haven’t done Biodanza before, it made me feel great. It made me smile, made me laugh, gave me confidence, enabled me to dance, dance and dance, and made me just enjoy being alive…
THANK YOU!’

Yes, regular Biodanza classes seem to be a natural anti-depressant. I know someone who if they are unable to get to classes for a period of time, they falling into a depression again.

I agree, Jill. When I was introduced to Biodanza I was going through an episode of depression. It helped me a lot: the music, the dancing without steps, the safety of the group! But the regularity was very important.
