In this post, which is a follow up from this one, Paula shares her experience of bringing Biodanza to wider communities during Healthy Bristol Week.
What an inspiring and interesting week! It was wonderful to introduce Biodanza to so many people and in so many different venues.
I must say that without the help from a colleague from the Netherlands I would have struggled to complete this true marathon of 10 workshops in 7 days. It was great fun to work together and to dance at the workshops that he delivered – especially the last vivencias, which definitely ended the week with a bang! The photo on the right was taken at Triodos Bank, and the one below at the Steiner School.
This family workshop, which you can see here, was enjoyed by all, and the taster at Wellspring Healthy Living Centre was well attended. The week ended with a lunchtime session at a Stress Busting event in Southmead community centre organised by the public health department of Bristol City Council.
Here’s some random feedback from participants: “I enjoyed Biodanza, I feel it helps people connect with others and themselves which is most important and will be the answer to all our problems in the future.” … “Inspiring and motivating” … “Fun, thought provoking and very relaxing” … “Enjoyed feeling my arms moving slowly through the air!”
In all, approximately 70 people had a go at Biodanza during Healthy City Week – and lots more heard about it through different social media. Thank you to all the organizers and the supporting venues that made this project possible.
